Waste slip and glaze which was too dilute to be reclaimed, along with washing water went to the Effluent Plant. Here a filter press was used to remove solids from the water. The resulting “cake waste” could be used in brick making.
The water which remained was chemically treated and purified before discharge to Sanderson’s Brook.
